Privacy Policy

for “Unofficial Guide for Ingress”

Your privacy is one of our primary concerns, thus with this document we want to clear up what data we collect, how it is collected and who it is shared with.

In order to improve the application over time, we use Google Analytics to collect usage data, such as t features are used most and what features are used least. This is done by sending events like button presses to Google Analytics servers using the built-in functions of the Google Analytics API. This data however does not include email addresses, names, physical addresses, IP addresses or other personal information. We leverage your location not more exactly than the city you are when you use the app, never while the app is not on screen.
All this data is anonymous so it cannot be associated with a specific person and it is securely stored on Google’s servers and not on some other computer, not even our own servers and computers.

Email addresses are only seen by us when you decide to send an email, via the feedback section in the app itself or via an ordinary email client. Your email address will never be stored anywhere else than on the servers of the corresponding email servers. The emails are not deleted but archived in order to allow for later checkouts to see if we did what we promised to do. In case of a shutdown of the app, all received emails will be deleted permanently to ensure that no unnecessary data is kept.

None of the data we collect and analyze is shared with any third party partners. Only we can access and analyze it in order to ensure that your data stays private.
You cannot request to delete your information, as we are unable to identify your specific data.
In case that we shut down the app for whatever reason, we oblige ourselves to permanently delete the data that is stored on Google Analytics servers.
